Biography: 

Dr. Robert Nachtrieb is Lead Scientist at Lutron Electronics. Rob is also a Senior Lecturer in System Dynamics at the MIT Sloan School of Management, where he co-teaches the advanced System Dynamics Elective for EMBAs and Sloan Fellows. Rob represents the United States at meetings of the IEC Technical Committee 34, and has played leading roles in the development of international standards lighting products. Rob is Vice-Chairman of the NEMA Lighting System Division, and is past-Chairman of the Lighting Controls Section. Rob is the past-chairman of the Industrial Advisory Board of the US-China Clean Energy Research Center (CERC) Consortium for Building Energy Efficiency. Rob received his doctorate in applied plasma physics from MIT in 2000 and his MBA from MIT in 2012. An active contributor to premier industry conferences, he has made significant contributions to peer-reviewed journals in the field of lighting and has been awarded several U.S. patents.
