Biography: 
Sydney Hughes is an engineering support contractor at the Department of Energy’s National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL). Her industry experience consists of 7 years in the natural gas processing industry, where she served as a plant engineer at a cryogenic gas plant, a senior processing engineer covering several processing facilities across a multi-state territory, and finally as an operations and maintenance leader at a major natural gas fractionation facility. Since joining NETL in 2019, her work has focused mainly on post-combustion carbon capture systems and CO2 utilization technologies. Sydney earned three degrees from Louisiana Tech University: Chemical Engineering (B.S. 2012), Engineering and Technology Management (M.S. 2022), and Business Administration (M.B.A. 2022).
