America has entered into an era of energy abundance and is now entering an era of energy independence, USEA’s Executive Director, Barry Worthington, told Fox Business host Liz Claman on Tuesday. In remarks on her show, Claman Countdown, Worthington said the American energy sector, bolstered by increasing natural gas exports and expansion of renewable energy, has achieved a level of abundance and independence for the United States unforeseeable even just six years ago.

Worthington’s remarks came just after President Trump’s visit to Shell’s ethane plant in Western Pennsylvania which the president cited as a great example of American energy success and abundance. Shell is a USEA member.

USEA chief congratulates member, Tellurian Inc.

Washington, D.C. — On Friday, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission moved one more hurdle for Houston-based Tellurian’s proposed liquefied natural gas export facility on the U.S. Gulf Coast and its associated pipeline.

The regulatory agency issued a final Environmental Impact Statement for Driftwood LNG, which would export 27.6 million tons of LNG annually, and Driftwood project, the associated 96-mile pipeline near Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Podgorica, Montenegro—The U.S. Energy Association and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have structured a landmark agreement that supports development of a regional electricity market among transmission system operators (TSOs) and market operators (MOs) in 8 countries in Southeast Europe.

Countries include: Albania, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Slovenia.
